Lukas Podolski Speaks Out On Potential £20m Arsenal Transfer

By on December 2, 2011

German international Lukas Podolski has intensified rumours of a move to Arsenal after describing them as a ‘top club’.

Arsene Wenger has been strongly linked with a move for Podolski as he seeks to strengthen his attacking options, with the Gunners being heavily reliant on Robin Van Persie. The Cologne ace is valued at around £20m and has recently blasted the clubs poor form.

The 26-year-olds contract expires in 2013 and talks over an extension have stalled after the Cologne ace blasted the clubs recent poor form, which has included four defeats in six games. When questioned about the interest from Arsenal, Podolski replied:

‘Arsenal are a top club. They have a good team and play right at the top level in England.’

Previously the striker had refused to commit his future to Germany, saying:

‘My family and friends may live here, but if I am in top condition, then I think I could fit into any side in Europe. I am not forced to stay only in Cologne.’

Didn’t Podoski play at Chelsea before? I can’t remember correctly but if he is the one, I like him but honestly scared.

We have got Park and Chamrk and we do not need any of those two for any more. We want someone who is as good as RVP ( if not as him but close to him ) who can take over from him when necessary.

Where did you pick that from? He’s played for Bayern though, and is an experienced German international.

To replaze Robin? No! What about pairing with him in attacking front? They know how to score and where to stand in the right time. 2nd option Robin in Bergkamp’s role and Podolski in Henry’s(Can’t compare to Henry but in theory that will works). Robin create space with eyes closed and Podolski scores for fun. If we get Podolski so I would say to Man U(8-2 defeat) ‘THIS IS OUR TIME’.
