United Hijack Arsenal’s Sahin Move?

With the summer transfer window in full swing, Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Man Utd are linked with Arsenal target Nuri Sahin.

Nuri-Sahin-Real-Madrid

Manchester United have made a late bid to snatch Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin from rivals Arsenal, according to Spanish media outlet Marca (translated version).

The report claims that Sahin’s future is set to be resolved in the next few days after being told he can leave on loan by Jose Mourinho and United have entered the race to sign him.

The 23-year-old is believed to be open to a move to Old Trafford but the main stumbling block appears to be the fact that Sir Alex Ferguson wants to sign the Turkish international on a permanent basis, with Madrid only interested in a loan deal.

Sahin is still highly regarded within the Bernabeu, despite his lack of playing time since his move from Borussia Dortmund last summer, and he is still seen as a player who has a future at the club, so Real are reluctant to let him leave on a permanent deal.

Arsenal are thought to be in advanced talks to sign the player with Marca saying an ‘agreement between Sahin and Wenger’s team is almost complete’. The only thing preventing the deal from going through is Real and Arsenal agreeing on what percentage of Sahin’s wages each club pay.

Arsenal’s north London rivals Tottenham are also interested in Sahin but Madrid are only willing to do business with Spurs if the midfielder is included as part of a deal for Luka Modric, but the Londoners are still demanding a fee that the Spaniards are unwilling to meet.

The player himself has accepted he needs to leave Madrid in order to play regular first team football after initially being reluctant to leave, but is keen to have his future resolved as soon as possible so he has time to settle at his new club ahead of the new season.

It looks like Arsenal remain in the driving seat to land the highly-talented midfielder, unless United come round to the idea of a loan or Spurs drop their asking price for Modric.

why Arsenal rivals always intend playing spoiler role in Arsenal transfer? why do they fail to employ wenger transaction strategy in running the club affairs if they envy it?

Your logic baffles me. Sir Alex Ferguson is one of few managers that Mourinho has any time for and is actually quite good friends with him – so why on earth wouldn’t Mourinho loan Sahin to United?

Also, Mourinho wants to loan him out to play more football – Real only want to loan him because they still see him as a long term replacment for Xabi Alonso. There is an argument that he would have less competition for places at United than Arsenal. Scholes can’t play every game and Anderson has failed to establish himself. Cleverley and Carrick are really the only two other contenders.

At Arsenal you’re looking at Song, Arteta, Wils here, Ramsey , Rosicky

If real madrid are serious of signing modric then they will have to sell sahin and if a bidding war comes between arsenal and man united then all knows who will win 😀

Only AW can help players develop their career so Sahin knows what he wants and where to go.

who needs him. He was a flop at his club. Why would Arsenal want flops

Get a decent experienced EPL bloke

thats what cazorla is for, bags of experience and will settle easily into the epl. sahin is a temporary signing to make up for the unpredictability of wilshere during his recovery. he was not a flop but is less experienced against many world class real players – if he was a flop why is mourinho refusing to hand him over to the epl permanently? he has bags of potential which we can utilise well. our midfield is lookin boss, now for a decent right back and maybe centre back – jenkinson unreliable/inexperienced and sagna injury prone. we want van der wiel!!
