[Video Goals] Chelsea 4-2 Reading: Blues Go Clear After Late Rally

By on August 22, 2012

Chelsea went three points clear at the top of the Premier League after a hard fought 4-2 win over newly promoted Reading at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

Hazard’s trickery in the box drew a foul to earn the Blues an 18th minute penalty, which was converted by Frank Lampard. But Reading hit back with two quick goals through a Pogrebnyak header and a Guthrie free-kick – which Cech should have done better with – to give the visitors a shock 2-1 half time lead.

Chelsea drew level after another spot of questionable goalkeeping, this time from Federici, who let in Cahill’s long range effort for 2-2. With less than 10 minutes remaining Fernando Torres put the home side ahead once more, although replays showed the Spaniard may have been offside.

As Reading pushed for the equaliser, Federici came forward for an injury time corner but got caught out as Hazard burst clear to set up Ivanovic to tap home into an empty net for 4-2. Watch all the goals below:

Its a massive massive win for us cus its takes us 3points clear @ the top of the table. And its better to be 3points ahead than to be 3point adrift. This win has boosted our moral against newcastle united and for the must win eufa super cup against atletico madrid.

I was really excited to see us win at the end of the day.though I was very nervous when we are leading them by 3goals to 2. Was thinking maybe they might equalise. Its a massive win for us.
