[Teams] Wigan vs Liverpool: Confirmed Line-ups

By on March 2, 2013

Liverpool take on Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium on Saturday evening looking to keep alive their slim hopes of finishing in the top-four this season.

The Reds head into the weekends action sitting in eight place, a full 10-points off fourth-placed Chelsea and the gap could be 13 with the Blues beating WBA at Stamford Bridge at the time of writing. So Brendan Rodgers will be keen to finish the season as strongly as possible and make a late push for Champions League qualification.

Liverpool will be without striker Daniel Sturridge after he failed to prove his fitness ahead of the game meaning Luis Suarez will continue through the middle with Stewart Downing and Philippe Coutinho in support. Here are the confirmed teams for the game:

Wigan Team

Al Habsi, Scharner, Caldwell, Figueroa, Boyce, McCarthy, McArthur, Beausejour, Maloney, Di Santo, Kone

Subs:  Robles, Alcaraz, Henriquez, Gomez, McManaman, Espinoza, Stam

Liverpool Team

Reina, Johnson, Enrique, Agger, Carragher, Lucas, Allen, Gerrard, Downing, Coutinho, Suarez.

Subs: Gulacsi, Wisdom, Shelvey, Assaidi, Henderson, Coates, Suso.
