[Video Goals] Chelsea 2-1 Sunderland: Second Half Comeback Sends Blues Third

By on April 7, 2013

Chelsea came from a goal down to beat Sunderland 2-1 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon to move above Spurs into third position in the Premier League table.

Paolo Di Canio’s men took a shock lead when Cesar Azpilicueta put through his own net just before half time. Chelsea were level shortly after the break as Matthew Kilgallon returned the favour when the ball deflected off the defender and past Mignolet after some good work from Fernando Torres. The Blues then won it just 5 minutes later when David Luiz’ shot deflected off Branislav Ivanovic and into the net for 2-1.

There was no way back for Sunderland and Chelsea move back above Tottenham on goal difference after Spurs drew 2-2 with Everton at White Hart Lane. Watch all the goals from Chelsea’s win over Sunderland here:
