With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Gonzalo Higuain doesn’t look likely to join Napoli.

The agent of Arsenal and Chelsea target Gonzalo Higuain has claimed Real Madrid will do all they can to persuade him to remain at the Bernabeu but the striker won’t be joining Napoli this summer, according to the Metro.

The Argentinean has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks with a £23m switch thought to have been close to completion two weeks ago before Real Madrid upped the asking price at the last minute.

Higuain has also been linked with a move to Chelsea after the striker was quoted recently as saying that new boss Jose Mourinho “wanted him” at Stamford Bridge this summer, while a switch to Italian outfit Napoli has also been mooted after the clubs president confirmed the 25-year-old was one of the players they were considering as a replacement for Edinson Cavani.

However, the players agent Enzo Bronzetti has revealed that Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is ready to try and convince the striker to remain in the Spanish capital, but if he does leave he won’t be joining Napoli.

‘Carlo Ancelotti will do everything possible to convince Higuain to stay put,’

‘Could he join Napoli? I think that’s out of the question too – I don’t think that they will be able to sign him.’ Bronzetti is quoted as saying by the Metro

Higuain is currently back training with the rest of the Madrid squad and he’s expected to hold further talks with Ancelotti in the coming days. His future appears to have been put on hold with Arsenal off chasing Luis Suarez and Chelsea concentrating their efforts on Wayne Rooney, and if the London duo aren’t careful they could up up missing out entirely if Higuain decides to stay with Madrid and Liverpool and Man Utd refuse to sell.

Any team that thinks Higuain’s daily changing price is correct, can buy him! But for business, I think Madrid are not willing to sell anymore!

I second that but why do they seem to be putting all their efforts into signing Suarez who has all this baggage and will miss the first 6 games of the season! Arsenal need to make a good start if they intend to make a serious go at winning the title!

We should have paid the original £25.5m asking price instead of trying to save pennies and he would already be an Arsenal player.I will be gutted if we don’t get him as I think, no KNOW, he is a far better option than Suarez and also a better player than Suarez

Benteke has signed a new contract at Villa which is good as I could only see him going to Spurs, so, ha ha ha f**k Spuds.
And we will NEVER get Suarez in a million years.
For me, it has to be and always should have been Higuain. He is simply THE best striker in the world that is available

Napoli can afford Gonzo’s pricetag, but I don’t think they’ll please to pay 130K per week.
Gonzo should realise that he has been put on plan B’s by Chelsea and Madrid.
Mou, who was pick Benzema oftenly than him-Gonzo must not forgot it, has revealed that Rooney is Chelsea’s main target this season. Besides, he will compete Ba and Torres in there. In other side, if he remain to stay at Madrid before they sign Suarez ( they rich enough and stupid enough to pay that 50M pounds to L’pool), he will fight with Benzema, Morata ,and Suarez for one spot.
If Napoli out of his favour, then it will be us who can guarantee him first place option. Besides, I’ve feeling that Arsene are making fake offer to L’pool to make Florentino Perez ego blow up as he feel he never loss biding war to Arsenal, and continue his “Galacticos” tradition minimum with Suarez. With Gonzo cooperation (Arsene have secretly keep in touch) this strategy should be succeesfull.
