The draw for the fourth round of the Capital One Cup took place tonight and as ever it’s thrown up some intriguing ties.

Chelsea eased into the fourth round with a 2-0 win over Swindon Town on Tuesday night and they have been rewarded with a trip to either Arsenal or West Brom – who are still battling it out at the Hawthorns (1-1 at the time of writing, extra time being played).

Premier League champions Manchester United booked a home clash with Norwich City after beating Liverpool 1-0 at Old Trafford on Wednesday night thanks to a second half effort from Javier Hernandez.

Tottenham thrashed Aston Villa 4-0 at Villa Park and Andre Villas-Boas men will now play Hull City at White Hart Lane, while Manchester City, who hammered FA Cup winners Wigan 5-0 in the previous round, will play Newcastle United at St James Park.

In the rounds other ties Sunderland face Southampton, Leicester play Fulham, Birmingham take on Stoke while Burnley will play West Ham. Ties will be played on the week commencing 28th October.

Yes, what every true blues fan would love to see happen. An early opportunity to emphasis the point that Chelsea can play more possession and attacking football than Arsenal. Am also sure that the Gunners would have preferred not to play Chelsea at this stage.
