Manchester United moved back up to third in the Premier League table with a 2-0 victory over Sunderland at Old Trafford this afternoon.
Wayne Rooney was the hero as he opened the scoring from the penalty spot midway through the second half after Radamel Falcao was pulled back in the area and the England striker made it 2-0 late on to secure the three points.
Rooney has taken to Instagram this evening to upload a photo of him celebrating his opening goal with a message simply saying ‘get in!’.
Defender Marcos Rojo also took to Instagram to congratulate his skipper on his two goals while he thanked the fans for their support.
Ashley Young posted a message to Twitter saying it was an important win for United after their defeat to Swansea last week and he’s now going to rest ahead of the trip to Newcastle on Wednesday.
