[Tweets & Photos] Gerrard, Sturridge & Henderson Celebrate Online After City Win
Daniel Sturridge, Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson were among the players to celebrate online after Liverpool beat Man City 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Liverpool secured a well deserved 2-1 victory over Manchester City at Anfield this afternoon with Philippe Coutinho scoring a stunning second half winner.
The Reds opened the scoring early on as Jordan Henderson curled home a sumptuous effort from the edge of the area in the eleventh minute before City levelled things up shortly after when Edin Dzeko finished off a superb team move for 1-1.
However, Liverpool won it in the 75th minute when Coutinho stepped up to curl home a stunning goal to give Joe Hart no chance and seal an impressive 2-1 victory over the defending champions.
The win gave Liverpool’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League a major boost as it sees them move to within just two points of fourth placed Manchester United, so it’s easy to understand why the players were in buoyant mood after the game.
Henderson and Coutinho took to Instagram to praise the performance of the team while injured skipper Steven Gerrard also uploaded a photo to the social networking site hailing the two Liverpool goal-scorers.
Simon Mignolet, Dejan Lovren, Daniel Sturridge and Lucas Leiva also posted messages on their Twitter accounts celebrating a huge three points for the Merseysiders.
See what they had to say here:
Get in there boys!!! Roll on Wednesday!
