Chelsea Make Approach To Hijack Man Utd’s Move For £10m-Rated Brazilian Attacker
Chelsea have made an approach to try and hijack Manchester United’s £5.7million move for highly-rated Brazilian attacker Kenedy, according to reports.
The January transfer window may be closed but that won’t stop the newspapers from speculating ahead of the summer so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, Chelsea are linked with Man Utd target Kenedy….
Chelsea have made an approach to try and hijack Manchester United’s move for highly-rated Brazilian attacker Kenedy, according to reports.
The 19-year-old is the latest teen sensation to emerge from Brazil after putting in some impressive performances for Fluminense since breaking into the first team set-up in 2013.
Kenedy’s potential has alerted Manchester United with reports last month suggesting that boss Louis van Gaal has already tabled a £5.7m bid for the forward.
Fluminense realise they wont be able to keep hold of him forever and are willing to cash-in on one of their most prized assets but it’s understood they’ll want a fee closer to £10m.
It remains to be seen whether United will match that figure but it looks as though they’ll now face stiff competition as Eduardo Valdes – an intermediary agent for Fluminense – claims that Chelsea have made contact to express their interest.
‘There was contact with Chelsea recently,’
‘It was through Deco, who is now his agent. It was an approach, not a formal offer though.
‘Half of Europe is following him.’ Valdes is quoted as saying by the Express
So it looks as though Chelsea and United are ready to battle it out with ‘half of Europe’ for Kenedy’s signature but the Blues could arguably be considered as the favourites following the players recent comments where he told reporters that he’d be keen on a move to Stamford Bridge in order to links up with compatriots Ramires and Oscar.
“Of course I am happy to play for Fluminense but it is my ambition to one day play in Europe”,
“I like Chelsea because of players like Oscar and Ramires. I like the whole team.” Kenedy is quoted as saying by the Express
Chelsea certainly have a large Brazilian core who would help Kenedy settle in London if he was to make the move to the Blues, with Filipe Luis and Willian also on the books along with Ramires and Oscar.

However, I’m sure that won’t deter United from trying to lure the striker to Old Trafford if they really want him, so it’s going to be interesting to see if either club are able to win the race and bring one of Brazil’s hottest young talents to the Premier League this summer.
