[Tweets] Gerrard, Sturridge & More: Players Celebrate Online As Reds Reach Wembley
Daniel Sturridge and Steven Gerrard are among the players who have taken to Twitter and Instagram to celebrate Liverpool reaching the semi-finals of the FA Cup
Liverpool booked their place at Wembley after narrowly beating Blackburn Rovers 1-0 in their FA Cup quarter final replay at Ewood Park on Wednesday night.
After a goalless first half, the Reds eventually broke the deadlock when Brazilian attacker Philippe Coutinho fired into the far corner from a tight angle in the 70th minute.
Blackburn couldn’t find an equaliser as Liverpool held on to secure a semi-final date with Aston Villa at Wembley stadium later this month.
Understandably, the Liverpool players were delighted with the result and many of the boys have been on social media to have their say.
Daniel Sturridge, Jose Enrique, Simon Mignolet and Alberto Moreno have all been on Twitter over the past 24 hours to express their delight at reaching Wembley while Steven Gerrard and Lucas Leiva have also uploaded photos to Instagram to celebrate the win.
