Real Madrid To Offer Man Utd Tempting Swap Deal For De Gea, Personal Terms Agreed
Real Madrid are ready to offer Manchester United Fabio Coentrao as part exchange in any deal involving David De Gea this summer, according to reports.
As the opening of the summer transfer window approaches, managers are working hard identifying targets and lining-up potential deals so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, Real Madrid are readying a swap deal for David De Gea…
Real Madrid are ready to offer Manchester United Fabio Coentrao as part exchange in any deal involving David De Gea this summer, according to reports.
De Gea is set to enter the final year of his contract at Old Trafford and so far he’s refused to sign a lucrative extension that’s been put on the table by United.
Louis van Gaal admitted at the weekend that the goalkeeper is tempted to return home to Spain and it looks like Real Madrid are ready to step-up their interest in the 24-year-old shot stopper.
The Express are citing reports coming from Spanish newspaper Marca which claim that Madrid are set to offer Fabio Coentrao as part-exchange in any potential deal for De Gea.
Coentrao is expected to leave the Bernabeu this summer after falling out-of-favour under Carlo Ancelotti and van Gaal may be tempted by the prospect of signing him as he reportedly made attempts to sign the Portuguese full-back last summer.
Madrid hope his inclusion in any deal will pave the way for an agreement for De Gea, with Marca claiming that the Spanish giants have already agreed personal terms with the keeper and now just need to agree a price with United.
The Express state that Madrid have already seen a £14m bid rejected with the Red Devils holding out for a fee closer to £30m – but the inclusion of Coentrao could bring that figure down significantly.
United are still desperate to persuade De Gea to remain at the club but if he refuses to sign a new deal and pushes for a move to Madrid, then perhaps it would be wise for van Gaal to look for a player in return and Coentrao would be a realistic target.

Left-back has been an area of concern for United this season with Luke Shaw struggling with a series of injuries so Coentrao would provide top quality competition in that area if he was to make the move to Old Trafford.
There’s still a long way to go before that happens and United fans will still be praying that De Gea ends up staying at the club, but I have a feeling we’ll see the 24-year-old head back to Madrid and United could do a lot worse than taking Coentrao as part of the deal.
