Man Utd Urged To Move For €41m Brazilian Ace After Chelsea Declare Their Interest
Manchester United have been urged to make their move for Felipe Anderson or risk missing out after Chelsea declared their interest in signing the Lazio attacker
As the opening of the summer transfer window approaches, managers are working hard identifying targets and lining-up potential deals so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, Man Utd face competition for Felipe Anderson….
Manchester United have been urged to make their move for Felipe Anderson or risk missing out after Chelsea declared their interest in signing the Lazio attacker, according to reports.
Anderson has emerged as one of the most sought-after young attackers in European football after enjoying a sensational season in Italy that saw him score 11 goals and provide 10 assists in 37 appearances as Lazio secured their place in the Champions League.
His impressive displays have attracted interest from the Premier League with Manchester United strongly linked with a move for the Brazilian attacker in recent months, and reports in May suggested that Louis van Gaal was considering making a formal move for the 22-year-old.
The Dutchman is expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer as he looks to build a squad capable of challenging for top honours next season and he’s supposedly identified Anderson as a key target.
However, United have now been urged to act fast or risk missing out with the Mirror claiming that Chelsea are among the clubs who have now declared their interest in signing the Brazilian international this summer.
The West Londoners have just won a league and cup double but Jose Mourinho isn’t planning on standing still and wants to further strengthen his squad ahead of an assault on the Champions League next term, and it looks like he’s keen on luring Anderson to Stamford Bridge.
The newspaper suggests that Manchester City and Barcelona are also interested but United remain in pole position due to Lazio’s interest in Robin van Persie, with the Italian’s supposedly making an enquiry over the 31-year-old’s availability.
Van Persie’s future at Old Trafford is in serious doubt as he’s no longer a guaranteed starter and the Dutchman is now contemplating a move away in order to secure more regular action next season, so a potential swap deal involving Anderson could be on the cards.

The South American youngster has predominantly been played as a left-sided attacker at Lazio but he’s also capable of playing anywhere across the front-three positions, so he’d give van Gaal or Mourinho plenty of options if he was to make the move to England.
However, United and Chelsea will have to dig deep as the Mirror claim that it will take a bid in the region of €41m (£30m) to persuade Lazio into a sale. Both clubs could afford that kind of money, but it remains to be seen whether they’ll be prepared to match that figure or look for better value elsewhere.
