[Team] Arsenal v Singapore XI: No Cech As Martinez Starts In Goal

Arsenal begin their pre-season with a game against a Singapore Select XI in the Asia Trophy this afternoon.

Manager Arsene Wenger has named a reasonably strong side with Per Mertesacker joined in defence by Nacho Monreal, Gabriel and Mathieu Debuchy.

Petr Cech is forced to wait to make his debut as Damien Martinez starts in goal with Wojciech Szczesny on the bench while Mathieu Flamini and Francis Coquelin start in midfield alongside Jack Wilshere.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain makes his return from injury to start in attack along with youngsters Chuba Akpom and Alex Iwobi.
