Arsenal Table Improved £35m Bid For World Class Hitman
Arsenal have tabled an improved £35m offer for Karim Benzema after Real Madrid knocked back our opening bid for the French international hitman.
With the summer transfer window in full swing, managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads ahead of next season so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, Arsenal make an improved offer for Karim Benzema…
Arsenal have tabled an improved £35m offer for Karim Benzema after Real Madrid knocked back our opening bid for the French international hitman, according to the Express.
Arsene Wenger is expected to bring in another front-man this summer and Benzema has emerged as a prime target with the boss confirming on Friday that he’s ready to spend big if the right player becomes available [via Mirror].
It looks like the Frenchman is doing his best to splash the cast as the Express claim that after seeing our opening £31m bid rejected by Madrid, Wenger has now returned with an improved £35m offer for Benzema’s signature.
However, although it’s believed we’re hopeful of securing a deal before the season starts, we may have to dig a little deeper still as the newspaper suggests that the Spanish giants are likely to knock back our latest bid and hold out for a fee of at least £40m.
It remains to be seen whether we’ll meet that valuation but if Madrid are willing to sell, I think we’d be mad not to as Benzema is easily worth that kind of money in today’s market.
The Express reported earlier this month that the boss has already held talks with Benzema about a potential move to the Emirates and the striker supposedly didn’t rule out the idea, so a potential move could be on the cards.
Obviously it would be a sensational deal if we could land the former Lyon star as he’s one of the best striker’s in world football and I think we’d have a great chance of winning the title if he was leading our front-line next season.

However, key to any deal is Madrid being able to find a replacement as they are highly unlikely to sell the 27-year-old without bringing in a top class striker in return, so we’ll have to hope Rafa Benitez can sign one of his reported targets to pave the way for Benzema to move to Arsenal.
