Petr Cech has taken to twitter to express his disappointment after his mistakes cost Arsenal during a 2-0 defeat to West Ham on Sunday afternoon.
Cech arrived at the Emirates with much expectation following his move from Chelsea earlier in the summer but it’s fair to say his competitive debut didn’t go according to plan.
The Czech international was partially at fault for the opening goal before he was beaten far too easily at his near post shortly after half-time as the Hammers went home with all three points.
Cech has now taken to Twitter to admit his error and say his disappointing debut ‘was not in the script’ but insists he’s now focused to put things right against Crystal Palace next weekend.
I think it’s fair to say we weren’t expecting Cech to make two errors on his debut but you have to respect him for going on Twitter and facing up to it. Hopefully he can make up for his mistakes with a MOTM display against Palace next Sunday.
Here is what Cech had to say on Twitter this evening:
First game like this was not in the script – Mistake and no points but tomorrow is another day to get ready for the next game ! #COYG
