Arsenal Handed Major Injury Boost With Star To Return Sooner Than Expected

Arsenal have denied suggestions Danny Welbeck is out for six months and insist the attacker should be back in action by the end of the year, according to the Telegraph.
Welbeck has been plagued by a troublesome knee injury since way back in April and was ruled out indefinitely after being forced to undergo surgery on his articular cartilage to cure the problem last week.
Arsenal initially only committed themselves to saying that the 24-year-old would be unavailable for ‘a period of months’ with many assuming Welbeck would be out until around Christmas time.
England boss Roy Hodgson then caused a stir after claiming earlier this week that he had been told Welbeck would be sidelined for around six months, which would rule him out until March and put his participation at the 2016 European Championships in doubt.
However, it looks like Arsenal have moved to ease those fears as the Telegraph are reporting that the club have denied Hodgson’s suggestions and insist Danny should return to action before the end of the year.
This will be a major boost as it would have been a devastating blow had Welbeck been out until March, but now it looks like he should be fit for the second half of the season.
We’re still going to miss his presence in the squad over the coming months as Welbeck gives us another valuable option in attack and something different to Olivier Giroud through the middle.
Hopefully we can get by with what we have and reassess things in the New Year. If Danny suffers any sort of setback, then Arsene Wenger will have no option but to dip in to the transfer market this winter.
