The Spanish international was the pantomime villain once again as he played a key role in getting Arsenal defender Gabriel sent off just before half time at Stamford Bridge.
With the scores still level at 0-0, Costa tangled with Laurent Koscielny off the ball with replay’s showing the striker was fortunate not to receive a red card after an apparent elbow.
This incident led to a clash between Costa and Gabriel which eventually saw the Arsenal centre-back sent off as the pair continued their disagreement towards the half-way line.
Chelsea made their extra man count with second half goals from Kurt Zouma and Eden Hazard securing a 2-0 win, but it was the incidents involving Costa that have made the headlines.
Arsene Wenger has been hugely critical of the striker saying he should have been sent off for his involvement in the clashes with Koscielny and Gabriel, while Jose Mourinho has backed his player, saying he was his Man of the Match.
Costa doesn’t appear to be fazed by the controversy surrounding him as he’s now taken to his Twitter account to upload a selfie with Hazard, Ramires and Oscar in the dressing room after the game.
