Champions League Last 16 Draw: Find Out Who Arsenal, Chelsea & Man City Could Get
Find out who the possible opponents are for Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City in Monday’s Champions League last 16 draw.
The Champions League group stages were finalised on Wednesday night and three Premier League teams have made it through to the last 16.
Arsenal made hard work of what on paper looked like a relatively easy group but the North Londoners booked their place in the knockout phase with an impressive 3-0 win at Olympiakos.
The win saw Arsenal leapfrog the Greek outfit into second spot in Group F to maintain Arsene Wenger’s record of qualifying for the last 16, but they could now face some top sides in the next phase.
Possible Arsenal opponents:
Zenit St Petersburg, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Wolfsburg
Chelsea secured top spot in Group G with an impressive 2-0 victory over FC Porto on Wednesday night to ease the pressure on Jose Mourinho after a disastrous start to their Premier League title defence.
Finishing first means Chelsea will avoid the big boys in the last 16 so the West Londoners should have a decent chance of getting a good draw and progressing to the quarter finals.
Possible Chelsea’s opponents:
Paris Saint-Germain, PSV Eindhoven, Benfica, Juventus, Roma or Gent
Manchester City secured top spot in Group D after beating Borussia Monchengladbach 4-2 at the Etihad on Tuesday night to book their place in the knockout stages for the first time.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men will also avoid the likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid in the last 16 so should be confident of progressing to the last 8.
Possible Man City opponents:
Paris Saint-Germain, PSV Eindhoven, Benfica, Roma, Dynamo Kiev or Gent
The draw will take place at 11am on Monday morning.
