Tottenham vs Newcastle Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Predicted Score
Tottenham take on Newcastle at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon. Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-ups, betting tips and predicted score
Tottenham will look to extend their unbeaten run when they take on Newcastle United at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.
Spurs warmed up for the game with an impressive 4-1 victory over AS Monaco on Thursday night which confirmed their progress to the last 32 of the Europa League as Group J winners, but it will be back to domestic matters this weekend.
Tottenham have lost just once in the Premier League so far this season and that came way back on the opening weekend of the season with a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Mauricio Pochettino will therefore be keen to extend that unbeaten run to 15 games but the North Londoners will also be desperate to get back to winning ways following consecutive draws with Chelsea and West Brom which have left them in fifth spot in the table.
Newcastle arrive in the capital off the back of a 2-0 victory over Liverpool last weekend so they should be in confident mood of picking up a positive result at the Lane.
However, in order to do so, Steve McClaren’s side will have to improve upon their away record that’s seem them win just one of their seven matches on the road this season.

Team news
Eric Dier is expected to be passed fit to start for Tottenham despite being taken off during the win over Monaco with a knock in midweek.
Mousa Dembele could also return to the starting eleven after missing the win on Thursday with a stomach bug while Nabil Bentaleb is pushing for a start after finally overcoming a niggling knee injury.
Ryan Mason is out with an ankle injury but Kyle Walker, Jan Vertonghen, Danny Rose and Harry Kane are among those who should be restored to the starting eleven after being rested in midweek.
Newcastle continue to deal with a whole host of injury problems with Tim Krul, Steven Taylor, Mike Williamson, Massadio Haidara, Gabriel Obertan and Emmanuel Riviere all still unavailable.
Cheick Tiote, Rolando Aarons and Jamaal Lascelles are all close to making their comebacks but this game will still come too soon so they also remain on the sidelines.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Tottenham 2-1 Newcastle: The Geordies should be high on confidence after last weeks win over Liverpool but Tottenham are proving to be a tough side to beat this season, and I fancy the North Londoners to edge this one tomorrow.
Betting Tips
Tottenham are the 4/11 favourites to win the game but Football Talk can get you enhanced odds of 5/1 on a Spurs win – just click here to take advantage. My prediction of 2-1 is on offer at 15/2 while I also like the look of Harry Kane to open the scoring at 13/5. If you combined those two bets in a score-cast then we get very tempting odds of 14/1.
