Manchester United will look to close in on the top four when they take on Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday afternoon. Here is the side I think van Gaal will pick:
Goalkeeper: David de Gea is certain to start between the sticks once again this weekend.
Defence: Phil Jones could be back in contention after recovering from a foot injury. The defender is facing a late test but I’m sure van Gaal will be keen to see the centre-back return after his side shipped three goals at Newcastle on Tuesday night.
If Jones does come back in alongside Chris Smalling then Daley Blind could revert to left-back with Matteo Darmian moving to right-back in place of Ashley Young.
Midfield: Bastian Schweinsteiger is a major doubt for the game as he continues to feel the effects of a knee injury that he suffered during the FA Cup win over Sheffield United last weekend. van Gaal will give the German until the last minute to prove his fitness but has hinted the midfielder may miss out.

Michael Carrick is certain to miss the trip to Anfield due to injury so Marouane Fellaini is expected to continue alongside Morgan Schneiderlin in the middle of the park.
Attack: United were excellent going forward against Newcastle so I don’t think we’ll see too many changes but Juan Mata could come back in to the side in place of Jesse Lingard – who’s only recently returned to fitness.
Anthony Martial and Ander Herrera should keep their places in attack while Wayne Rooney will be looking to build on the two goals he scored at St James’ Park.
Here is how we think United will line-up:
BACK LIVERPOOL TO WIN AT 6/1 OR MAN UTD AT 9/1 + MONEY BACK IF YOU LOSE
What do you think? What line-up would you like to see start?
