Arsenal made hard work of beating a poor Partizan side, but eventually secured a 3-1 victory to progress as group runner-ups. Arsenal opened the scoring thanks to a penalty won and converted by captain Van Persie. Belgrade silenced the Emirates with their first shot on goal, a Cleo effort deflecting off Squillaci and past Fabianski to make it 1-1 just after the break. Sub Theo Walcott then restored Arsenal lead with a beautifully taken volley, before the in-form Nasri finished off a lovely move for 3-1. Bacary Sagna was harshly sent off late on.
