Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed two key men will miss the Fiorentina game but Hugo Lloris will be back between the sticks. See the team news here
Tottenham Hotspur welcome Fiorentina to White Hart Lane on Thursday night in the second leg of their Europa League last-32 tie.
Ahead of the game, Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s offered reporters a team news and injury update.
Unfortunately, according to Sky Sports, the Spurs boss confirmed a huge injury blow with Harry Kane ruled out of tomorrow’s crucial game with a broken nose that he suffered during Sunday’s FA Cup defeat to Crystal Palace.
Kane was being tipped to play with a protective mask against Fiorentina but he was a notable absentee at training this morning and Pochettino has confirmed the striker won’t feature tomorrow night.
In a double blow, the Argentinean coach also revealed that Mousa Dembele will sit out the Europa League clash after the midfielder was forced off with a groin injury at the weekend.
However, there was some more positive news as Hugo Lloris was back in full training this morning and has been passed fit to face Fiorentina after recovering from a shoulder injury that’s kept the Frenchman out of the last two matches.
Erik Lamela was also back in training this morning and Pochettino confirmed that the Argentinean attacker has overcome illness and is available for selection tomorrow night.
Spurs welcome Fiorentina to North London following last weeks 1-1 draw in Italy so the Premier League club are in the driving seat to book a place in the draw for the last-16 of the Europa League.
