Incoming Man Utd Boss Jose Mourinho Plotting Audacious Raid On Arsenal

The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are linked with Laurent Koscielny….
Jose Mourinho is eyeing an audacious raid on Arsenal for Laurent Koscielny once he’s confirmed as the new Manchester United manager, according to the Daily Star.
Mourinho is on the verge of replacing Louis van Gaal in the Old Trafford hot seat after the Dutchman was axed on Monday following a disappointing campaign that saw them finish outside the top four in the Premier League.
Sky Sports News are reporting that the Portuguese coach has now agreed personal terms after his agent Jorge Mendes held meetings with United vice chairman Ed Woodward on Tuesday afternoon.
Mourinho is expected to be extremely active in the transfer market as he looks to rebuild the United squad and it appears the former Chelsea boss has already drawn up a list of potential targets.
The Daily Star cite reports coming from French outlet Le10 Sport that claim the so called ‘Special One’ is plotting a shock raid on Arsenal for Laurent Koscielny as he looks to bring in a new centre-back this summer.
Koscielny has developed in to one of the best central defenders in Europe since joining Arsenal from Lorient in 2010 so it would be a HUGE surprise if the Gunners were prepared to listen to offers for the 30-year-old.
The French international has been an integral part of Arsene Wenger’s starting eleven and with three years remaining on his current contract at the Emirates, the Gunners are under no pressure to sell.
Wenger has been criticised by his own supporters for selling the clubs key players to their rivals in the past but the Arsenal boss insists those days are behind them, so I personally see this story as a non-starter.
There is no way Arsenal would sell Koscielny to United this summer so Mourinho is going to have to look elsewhere in his search for a new partner for Chris Smalling.

The Portuguese boss isn’t just looking to strengthen his defence as the Daily Star suggest that a new midfielder and a striker are also on his agenda with N’Golo Kante and Zlatan Ibrahimovic supposedly key targets.
It looks like it’s going to be a hectic summer at Old Trafford with plenty of activity in the transfer market, but first Mourinho needs to be confirmed as the new boss and that announcement could be made over the next couple of days.
