The opening of the summer transfer window is almost upon us so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, more on the future of Alexandre Lacazette….
Arsenal are leading the chase along with Paris Saint-Germain for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette after he snubbed interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, according to talkSPORT.
Lacazette has been with Lyon his entire career having progressed through the youth set-up before breaking in to the first team in 2010 and he’s developed a reputation as one of the most lethal strikers in European football in recent years.
The 25-year-old’s 23 goals in all competitions last season took his personal tally to 75 over the past three campaigns and his impressive form has led to interest from a number of Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham.
talkSPORT claim that Spurs and the Hammers have already expressed their interest in bringing the striker to England this summer but they suggest that Lacazette has rejected their advances as he doesn’t believe they match his ambitions.
However, the French international could still be heading for the Premier League as talkSPORT go on to say that Arsenal and PSG are now leading the chase for Lacazette’s signature and the striker is now waiting for the duo to come forward with formal offers.
The news comes just days after the Mirror reported that Arsene Wenger was due to to hold talks with the strikers agent over in France this week to discuss a potential move to the Emirates this summer.
It’s not known whether those talks have now taken place or what the outcome was if they have but the Gunners boss is on the market for another striker to support Olivier Giroud next season and they’ve already failed to land Jamie Vardy after he opted to sign a new deal with Leicester City.
We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks but if Wenger does decide to push ahead with a formal move he better be prepared to dig deep as the Mirror claim Lyon are demanding £45m for the striker this summer.

The Gunners boss has shown in recent windows with the signings of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Granit Xhaka that he’s prepared to spend big money if he finds the right player but at £45m Lacazette would be a new record signing for Arsenal so I’m sure they’ll think long and hard before parting with that sort of money.
