The opening of the summer transfer window is now open for business so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Paul Pogba is close to joining Man Utd….
Manchester United are close to agreeing a £105m fee with Juventus for Paul Pogba and the midfielder could undergo his medical on Tuesday after agreeing a £202,000-a-week contract, according to the Sun.
Pogba’s future has been the subject of intense speculation in recent weeks with the Mirror reporting last month that United were willing to break the world transfer record to land the midfielder after Jose Mourinho made him his prime target.
The Red Devils have reportedly been in negotiations with Juve for some time but it looks like the proposed deal has taken a huge step closer to completion as the Sun are reporting today that the two clubs are now on the verge of agreeing a huge £105m deal.
The newspaper says that negotiations have been complicated by the fact that agent Mino Raiola owns 25% of Pogba’s rights meaning he’s due a staggering 25% cut of any fee but the deal is expected to be concluded this weekend.
The Sun claims that Pogba has now agreed personal terms over a five-year deal worth £202,000-a-week and could undergo his medical as early as Tuesday when he returns from his holiday in the United States.
If these reports are accurate, then United are on the brink of sealing a sensational coup that would see Pogba become the most expensive player in the history of the game, eclipsing the £86m Real Madrid paid for Gareth Bale in 2013.
It would be an unbelievable turn-around for the midfielder having walked out on United to join Juventus on a free transfer four years ago following a bust-up with Sir Alex Ferguson over his lack of progress at the club.
Pogba has developed in to one of the best all-round midfielders in Europe over the past few years and would add a whole new dimension to the United team if he does end up completing this world record move to Old Trafford.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming days but if United can get a deal wrapped-up then Pogba will become Mourinho’s fourth major signing of the summer following the arrivals of Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
