Man Utd To Announce £100m Signing Today After Pogba Completes Medical In LA
Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has undergone his medical in Los Angeles and will complete his world record £100m move to Manchester United later today
The summer transfer window is in full swing so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd close-in on Paul Pogba….
Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has undergone his medical in Los Angeles and will complete his world record £100m move to Manchester United later today, according to the Express.
Pogba’s future has dominated the headlines in recent weeks with the French international strongly tipped to leave Juventus this summer with Man Utd and Real Madrid among the clubs to be initially linked with a move.
United emerged as the clear favourites but have been locked in lengthy negotiations with Juve and Mino Raiola with the Dutch agent’s commission understood to be the main sticking point.
However, it appears a breakthrough was reached yesterday as the Independent were one of several news outlets to report that Pogba flew-in to LA from Miami last night to undergo his medical with United.
The newspaper claims that with United and Juventus already settled on a £92m deal, the defining moment came when Raiola agreed to accept a lower fee, thought to be in the region of £10m, so the midfielder was free to fly-in to have his medical.
It looks like things are moving quickly as the Express are now claiming that Pogba has successfully completed his medical tests and the £100m deal is expected to be announced by the end of the day.
The Express suggest that Pogba will sign a lucrative five-year deal worth £290,000-a-week while Juventus will also received an additional payment should the midfielder renew his contract and win the Ballon d’Or during his time at Old Trafford.
Once the proposed deal goes through, the 23-year-old will become the most expensive player in the history of the game, eclipsing the £86m Real Madrid paid Tottenham for Gareth Bale in 2013.
Assuming there are no last minute complications, Pogba is set to become Jose Mourinho’s fourth major signing of the summer following the arrivals of Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Frenchman has developed in to one of the best all-round midfielders in the world since joining Juventus in 2012 and is now poised to head back to Manchester four years after walking away from the club following a bust-up with Sir Alex Ferguson over his lack of progress in to the first team.

It’s certainly a dramatic turn-around for the youngster and while it must hurt United having to shell out around £100m for a player they had on their books just four years ago, Pogba will still be a sensational signing for the Red Devils.
