Paul Pogba is due to fly in to England this week to undergo his medical and sign a lucrative contract worth £275,000-a-week ahead of his £112m move to Man Utd
The summer transfer window is in full swing so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, more on Man Utd’s pursuit of Paul Pogba…
Paul Pogba is due to fly in to England later this week to undergo his medical and sign a lucrative contract worth £275,000-a-week ahead of his £112m move to Manchester United, according to the Express.
Pogba’s future has dominated the back pages this summer with the French international strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford after United emerged as favourites ahead of Real Madrid to secure his signature.
Negotiations with Juventus and the midfielders agent, Mino Raiola, have been on-going for weeks as the three parties tried to thrash out terms over what’s expected to be a world record deal that will smash the £86m Real Madrid paid Tottenham for Gareth Bale.
United fans have been eagerly awaiting updates and Pogba caused a stir on social media last night after posting a cryptic message on his Twitter account with a picture of him sitting on a plane ‘thinking about football’.
Obviously some supporters are speculating that the midfielder could be on his way to Manchester but the Express claim that Pogba is in fact heading to New York for the final part of his holiday in the United States.
However, the newspaper says that after spending a couple of days in the Big Apple, the 23-year-old will then fly to England to undergo his medical with Man Utd after a deal was finally agreed over his transfer.
The report claims that Pogba will sign a lucrative deal worth £275,000-a-week and he could even complete his £112m move from Juventus in time to play some part in the Community Shield against Leicester on Sunday.
Pogba has been keeping himself fit during his holiday’s but I would personally be extremely surprised if the midfielder featured at Wembley this coming weekend, if he does end up completing his move to Old Trafford in time.
So it appears this transfer saga could finally be drawing to a close and Pogba would obviously be a sensational signing for United if they manage to get this deal over the line as he’s developed in to one of the best midfielders in the world since leaving United four years ago.

Jose Mourinho has already splashed out on Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer but Pogba would be a marquee signing and his arrival would likely see Bastian Schweinsteiger leave after just one year at the club.
