Paul Pogba is expected to finally complete his world record £92m move to Manchester United today and is due to pen a five-year deal worth around £320,000-a-week
The summer transfer window is in full swing so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are set to wrap-up the signing of Paul Pogba….
Paul Pogba is expected to finally complete his world record £92m move to Manchester United today and is due to pen a lucrative five-year deal worth around £320,000-a-week, according to Spanish outlet AS.
Pogba’s future has been the subject of intense speculation in the media this summer with United and Real Madrid reportedly battling it out to secure the French international’s signature from Juventus.
United emerged as favourites and have been locked in negotiations with the Serie A champions and Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola in recent weeks as the three parties thrashed out a deal which is set to smash the world record set when Madrid paid Tottenham £86m for Gareth Bale in 2013.
It looks like the saga could be coming to a close as Spanish outlet AS are reporting that Pogba is expected to complete a £92m (€110m) move to Old Trafford TODAY after United agreed to meet Juve’s asking price.
The 23-year-old has spent the summer holidaying in the United States after being given an extended break following his participation at Euro 2016 – where he helped hosts France reach the final before losing 1-0 to Portugal.
Pogba flew-in to New York earlier this week for the final leg of his trip and AS suggest that now his holiday has come to an end, the midfielder is expected to head for Manchester with Raiola to complete his move to United.
The Spanish outlet says that Pogba will sign a five-year deal worth around £320,000-a-week (£16.7m per year) while his agent will also pocked a huge commission worth around £20m for his part in negotiating the deal.
Who knows how much truth there is behind this latest report as there has been so much speculation surrounding this proposed transfer that it’s best to take everything with a pinch of salt until something concrete comes out.
However, it does appear likely that the Pogba saga will be resolved any day now as he’s due to start his pre-season preparations and the player will want his future sorted as soon as possible.
