Alexis Sanchez scored twice while Granit Xhaka netted a screamer as Arsenal beat Hull City 4-1 at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Arsenal started well and opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Alex Iwobi’s shot deflected off Sanchez and in to the back of the net for 1-0.
Jake Livermore was then sent off for stopping Francis Coquelin’s goal-bound effort with his hand but Sanchez saw the resulting spot kick saved by Eldin Jakupovic.
We eventually made it 2-0 shortly after half-time as Iwobi found Theo Walcott with a superb back heel and the England attacker chipped the keeper before Hull were gifted a way back in to the game when Petr Cech brought down Mbokani in the area.
Robert Snodgrass converted the penalty to make it 2-1 before Sanchez restored our two-goal advantage in the 84th minute with a well taken finish. There was just enough time for sub Xhaka to step-up and smash home a stunning 30-yard screamer to seal a 4-1 win.
