Jose Mourinho has named his 20-man squad ahead of Manchester United’s Europa League clash with FC Rostov on Thursday evening.

The Reds flew-out to Russia from Manchester Airport this afternoon to prepare for the first leg of their last-16 tie at the Olimp-2 Stadium but there was no place on the plane for Wayne Rooney.

The 31-year-old returned to the starting eleven for Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Bournemouth and played 70 minutes before being replaced by Marcus Rashford but Rooney has been left back in Manchester for Thursday’s game.

Luke Shaw also returned from the wilderness to start against the Cherries at the weekend and he too lasted 70 minutes before being withdrawn for Jesse Lingard as Mourinho chased a late winner, but the left-back has also been left out of the squad to face Rostov.

Eric Bailly is another high profile absentee as he misses the trip due to suspension following his sending off during the second leg of their last-32 clash with Saint Etienne.

Bastian Schweinsteiger fails to make the 20-man squad either due to a minor injury that kept him out of action at the weekend.

Henrikh-Mkhitaryan-Manchester-United

However, Henrikh Mkhitaryan does return to the fold after recovering from an injury that he suffered shortly after scoring the opening goal during the Europa League win in France last month.

Here is the full 20-man squad announced on ManUtd.com:

De Gea, Romero, O’Hara; Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Smalling, Blind, Darmian, Young; Carrick, Herrera, Fellaini, Pogba, Mata, Lingard, Mkhitaryan; Martial, Rashford, Ibrahimovic.
