Liverpool will be looking to cement their position in the top four when they take on Burnley at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds moved back in to the top four with an impressive 3-1 victory over Arsenal last weekend with Adam Lallana inspiring the Merseysiders to victory over the north Londoners at Anfield.

With the rest of their top four rivals competing in the FA Cup this weekend, Liverpool will be desperate to take advantage and put some points on the board with a win over Burnley.

The visitors will be looking to do the double over Jurgen Klopp’s side after winning the reverse fixture 2-0 at Turf Moor earlier in the season.

However, while Burnley sit comfortably in mid-table, their away form this season has been woeful with Sean Dyche’s men taking just two points on their travels so far.

Team news

Liverpool will be without Jordan Henderson as the skipper continues to nurse a foot injury that’s kept him out for the last two games so Emre Can will continue in midfield.

Daniel Sturridge is also ruled out after failing to recover from a hip problem while Roberto Firmino is a major doubt after failing to train this week having picked up a knock against Arsenal.

It means Divock Origi is expected to start up front but Dejan Lovren could get a recall after overcoming a knee injury that’s kept him out for a month.

As for Burnley, they remain without Steven Defour due to a hamstring injury while Johann Berg Gudmundsson is out with a knee problem while Jon Flanagan is ineligible to face his parent club.

However, Joey Barton is available and goalkeeper Ton Heaton has overcome illness.

Liverpool 2-0 Burnley: Liverpool were excellent for long periods against Arsenal last weekend and another display like that will surely result in three more points. Burnley will take heart from the win over Liverpool at Turf Moor but their away form is horrendous so I can’t see past a comfortable Reds win.
