Liverpool Team News: Klopp Confirms Double Injury Blow Ahead Of WBA
Jurgen Klopp has confirmed a double injury blow ahead of Liverpool’s trip to West Brom this weekend. See full details here.
Liverpool will look to cement their position in the top four when they take on West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Sunday afternoon.
Ahead of the game, Jurgen Klopp has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s given reporters a team news and injury update.
The Reds boss confirmed that Jordan Henderson is still unavailable for selection and the skipper isn’t expected to return until later this month.
Henderson hasn’t featured in the first team since suffering a foot injury at the end of February and he’s recently spent time in America to help his recovery as the problem has proven difficult to overcome.
The good news is that Klopp says the midfielder is now pain-free but he’s not expected back in full training until later this month so he’s certain to miss this weekend’s trip to West Brom.
In a double blow, the Liverpool boss also confirmed that Adam Lallana won’t be considered this weekend either as he continues to recover from a thigh problem that he suffered while away with the England squad last month.
Lallana also flew-out to the States to recuperate from the injury but Klopp says the midfielder won’t be back in training until after next weekend’s clash with Crystal Palace.

The only other major injury concern for Liverpool is Sadio Mane and the attacker has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery earlier this week.
Liverpool head to the Hawthorns sitting third in the table and six points ahead of fifth-placed Man Utd but with Jose Mourinho’s men holding two games in hand, Klopp will be desperate to widen the gap with a win on Sunday.
