Man Utd & Chelsea Told They Can Sign 24-Goal Striker For £100m
Chelsea and Manchester United have been told that it will take a world record £100m fee to land 24-goal striker Romelu Lukaku this summer.
Managers are now making plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, more on the future of Romelu Lukaku…
Everton have slapped a £100m price-tag on the head of Chelsea and Manchester United target Romelu Lukaku as the Toffees look to play hardball over their star striker, according to the Mirror.
Lukaku is currently enjoying his most prolific campaign having scored his 24th goal of the season at the weekend to move clear at the top of the Premier League goal-scoring charts.
However, the Belgian international has thrown his future in to serious doubt after informing Everton that he wont sign a new contract and is keen to join a club competing in the Champions League.
The Goodison Park outfit are desperate to keep hold of the striker and have informed him that he needs to honour the final two years of his deal but that hasn’t stopped the big-boys from expressing their interest.
The Sun reported earlier this month that Man Utd are determined to land Lukaku ahead of Chelsea with two of England’s biggest clubs ready to battle-it-out over his signature this summer.
Jose Mourinho is looking to bring in at least one new striker this summer as a lack of firepower has undermined United’s season and Lukaku is seemingly on the Portuguese coaches radar.
Chelsea have long been linked with a move for the 23-year-old with Antonio Conte hoping to lure the striker back to Stamford Bridge following an unsuccessful first spell at the club.
However, it seems the duo will have to dig deep if they want to sign Lukaku as the Mirror claim that Everton have now made it clear it will take a world record £100m offer to persuade them to cash-in.
The Toffees hope that valuation will put off potential suitors and it may very-well have the desired effect, but Chelsea and United are two clubs who do have the financial firepower to pay that sort of money if they really wanted to.

I personally don’t think Lukaku is worth anywhere near £100m but transfer fees are increasing every window and it’s only a matter of time before the record is broken again so it wouldn’t be too much of a shock if someone agreed to pay that figure.
