Arsenal vs Man City: Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Prediction
Arsenal take on Man City in the semi-finals of the FA Cup tomorrow. Here is a preview with team news, line-ups, betting tips and predicted score.
Arsenal and Manchester City will face-off against each other at Wembley on Sunday afternoon with a place in the FA Cup awaiting the victors.
Arsene Wenger is under increasing pressure to win his seventh FA Cup after overseeing a hugely disappointing campaign at the Emirates that sees the north Londoners in danger of missing out on Champions League football for the first time in 20 years.
Therefore, a third FA Cup in four years may be the only thing that keeps Wenger in a job so the Frenchman will be desperate to build on Monday night’s 2-1 win at Middlesbrough.
However, City will be a tough task as Pep Guardiola looks to secure silverware in his debut season in charge at the Etihad and the Citizens come in to the game off the back of consecutive league wins over Hull and Southampton.
Team News
Arsenal will be without Shkodran Mustafi as the German international is still nursing a thigh injury while David Ospina remains out with a back problem.
Danny Welbeck returned to training on Friday after recovering from a toe injury that kept him out of the Middlesbrough game so he could be recalled up front but Lucas Perez and Santi Cazorla remain out with long-term injuries.
Wenger switched to a 3-4-3 formation at the Riverside but admitted it was likely to be a temporary change so the Gunners boss could revert to his preferred 4-2-3-1 with Hector Bellerin coming back in at right-back.
Man City have been boosted by the return to fitness of Gabriel Jesus but the Brazilian is likely to be named on the bench after so long out with a foot injury.
However, John Stones is out with a muscle problem so Vincent Kompany is expected to line-up alongside Nicolas Otamendi.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Arsenal 1-2 Man City: The league game was drawn 2-2 at the Emirates earlier this month and I expect another close encounter this time around. Arsenal have struggled badly in recent weeks and City are certainly the team in better form so I have to give the edge of Guardiola’s men. I think they’ll nick it 2-1 to book their place in the final where they’ll face Chelsea.
