Everton vs Chelsea: Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Prediction
Chelsea take on Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon. Here is a preview with team news, line-ups, betting tips and predicted score
Chelsea will look to go another step closer to reclaiming the Premier League title when they take on Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues briefly extended their advantage at the top to seven points with a 4-2 win over Southampton on Tuesday night but Spurs closed the gap once again after beating Crystal Palace 24 hours later.
This weekend could be a defining moment in the title race as Chelsea face a tough trip to Goodison while Tottenham play host to North London rivals Arsenal.
All Antonio Conte can do is make sure his side keep winning their games and beating Everton will take them a huge step closer to the title, so the west Londoners won’t want to let anything slip.
However, the Toffees usually up their game when the big boys come to town and Ronald Koeman will be looking to move back up to sixth with a win over the Blues tomorrow.
Team News
Chelsea have no fresh injury worries to deal with so Conte will take a fully-fit squad with him to Merseyside tomorrow afternoon.
Pedro is pushing for a recall after being left out against Southampton in midweek so Cesc Fabregas could make way.
Everton welcome back Enner Valencia after he was ineligible to face parent club West Ham last week but a place on the bench is probably the best he can hope for.
Muhamed Besic is still short of fitness after a year out with a serious knee injury so he remains on the sidelines along with James McCarthy, Ramiro Funes Mori, Yannick Bolasie, Season Coleman and Aaron Lennon.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Everton 1-2 Chelsea: Everton have an excellent home record against Chelsea having won five of their last seven league meetings at Goodison. However, the visitors know this is a huge game for them and the Toffees have little left to play for so I think Chelsea are going to edge it.
