Man Utd Table £72m Striker Bid As Mourinho Begins Work On Triple Swoop

Managers are now making plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd make their move for Kylian Mbappe….
Manchester United have made an opening offer worth around £72m for Kylian Mbappe while Jose Mourinho is also plotting moves for Radja Nainggolan and Fabinho, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
Mourinho is gearing up for a busy summer in the transfer market at he looks to create a squad capable of being genuine title challengers next season and it looks as though he’s already started to work on potential deals.
Mbappe has been strongly linked with a whole host of top European clubs after enjoying a sensational campaign that’s seen him score 24 goals and provide 11 assists for Monaco to help them sit top of the Ligue 1 table and reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.
United are one of the clubs that have been credited with an interest in the 18-year-old striker and Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims the Red Devils have now opened the bidding with a formal £72m [€85m] offer.
The bid has already been rejected by Monaco with Di Marzio saying the Ligue 1 outfit want to keep hold of Mbappe for at least another season and are demanding a minimum of £100m to sell this summer.
It remains to be seen whether United will be prepared to pay a world record fee for the French international but they’ve shown in the past with the signing of Paul Pogba that they aren’t afraid to spend huge sums to land their targets so I wouldn’t be surprised if we see the Manchester giants go back in with an improved offer.
Mourinho needs to bring in at least one new striker this summer as Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been ruled out for up to a year with a double cruciate knee ligament injury while Wayne Rooney is also expected to leave and Mbappe would be a sensational signing if they could pull it off.
It’s not just in attack where United are looking to strengthen as they need to find a replacement for Michael Carrick and Di Marzio claims they have already enquired over a possible deal for Roma midfielder Nainggolan.
The Belgian international has become one of the best central midfield players in Italy over the past few years so he’d be an excellent addition if United were successful in luring him to Old Trafford, but the report suggests the 28-year-old is keen to stay in Rome.
A possible alternative target could be Fabinho as Di Marzio says United are also showing a keen interest in the versatile Monaco star ahead of the summer window.

Fabinho made his name as a right-back so Mourinho could be viewing him as the long-term replacement to Antonio Valencia but he’s excelled in a central midfield role since being converted at the start of this season.
We’ll have to wait and see how things develop but it looks as though it’s going to be a busy few months at Old Trafford and United fans will be excited to see the club going for the likes of Mbappe, Nainggolan and Fabinho.
