Managers are now making plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are linked with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang….
Manchester United have stepped-up their interest in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as Jose Mourinho joins the race to sign the £59m-rated Borussia Dortmund hitman this summer, according to L’Equipe via The Sun.
Mourinho is gearing-up for a busy few months as he looks to build a squad capable of competing for major honours next season and a new world class striker is understood to be a priority.
A lack of goals has been a major issue for the Red Devils this season and with Zlatan Ibrahimovic out for up to nine months and Wayne Rooney set to leave, Mourinho is in the market for a goal-scorer.
Several names have been linked with a move to Old Trafford but The Sun are citing a report from L’Equipe that claims United have now joined Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign Aubameyang.
The newspaper says United officials have instructed intermediary agents to arrange a sit-down meeting with the Gabon international to discuss a potential switch to Old Trafford this summer.
The 27-year-old has developed in to one of the most dangerous attackers in European football since joining Dortmund from Saint-Etienne in 2013 and he’s scored an incredible 37 goals in all competitions so far this campaign.
That kind of threat in front of goal is exactly what United need but they will face stiff competition for his signature as The Sun claims that PSG have already held talks with Aubameyang while the striker has also been offered huge money to move to China.
The newspaper says that Dortmund are demanding £59m for the hitman’s signature and a club with United’s financial resources shouldn’t have a problem paying that kind of money, so it’s all about being able to lure Aubameyang to England.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks and I’m sure there will be plenty more speculation circulating in the media but I think Aubameyang would be a superb signing if United could get a deal agreed.
