Tottenham have opened initial talks with Dani Alves over a sensational move from Juventus this summer, according to Yahoo Sports.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men are guaranteed to be playing Champions League football next season after securing second place in the Premier League and the Spurs boss knows he needs to strengthen his squad.
A new right-back looks to be on the agenda as Kyle Walker is being strongly tipped to leave White Hart Lane [see our story on Man Utd and Chelsea’s interest] and is looks as though Pochettino has an ambitious target in mind to replace the England international.
Yahoo Sports are reporting that Spurs have opened preliminary discussions with Dani Alves over a potential move this summer with the north Londoners prepared to offer the Brazilian international a two-year deal with the option of a third season.
Alves still has one year left to run on his contract with Juventus and the Italians are unlikely to want to lose him as the 34-year-old has been outstanding this season to help them stay on course to winning the Serie A title and reach the final of the Champions League.
But that won’t stop Tottenham from trying to pull off a major coup with the report indicating further talks will be held after Juve’s final with Real Madrid on June 3rd.
Ordinarily this story would go down as the start of ‘silly season’ but Alves admitted before joining Juventus last summer that he would love to test himself in the Premier League.
He’s quoted as saying by Yahoo Sports:
“It’s special: there’s a corner and it’s like it’s a goal. I’ve always said that playing in England is something I’ve got pending. I don’t know when but I’d like to play there, to experience in person what I see from the sofa. The way the people live football. Wow, it’s incredible. Full stadiums, living every moment.”

Alves is still arguably the best right-back in the world so it would be a sensational signing if Tottenham could pull it off but I have a feeling the South American will see-out the final year of his deal in Turin.
