Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool are linked with Mohamed Salah….
Liverpool remain in negotiations with Roma over a deal to sign £35m-rated attacker Mohamed Salah after seeing their opening £28m offer rejected, according to the BBC.
Jurgen Klopp is expected to be extremely active in the transfer market this summer as he looks to build a squad capable of competing on all fronts ahead of the Merseysiders return to the Champions League.
Salah has emerged as a prime target for Klopp in recent weeks and the BBC claim that Liverpool saw their initial £28m offer for the Egyptian international knocked back by Roma.
However, the news outlet says Liverpool remain locked in negotiations over a deal with the Serie A giants demanding at least £35m for Salah’s signature this summer.
It remains to be seen whether the Reds will be prepared to match that asking price but the BBC suggest that Salah is keen on a return to the Premier League having failed during his first stint in England.
The 24-year-old joined Chelsea from Basel in 2014 but struggled to establish himself and was sent out on loan to Fiorentina and Roma before securing a permanent move to the Stadio della Roma in 2016.
Salah has rediscovered his best form in Italy with the winger scoring 19 goals and providing a further 15 assists last season to help Roma finish second the Serie A behind champions Juventus.
With those kind of stats, it’s no wonder that Klopp is keen to bring Salah back to the Premier League and I think he’d be an excellent addition if Liverpool were able to get a deal agreed.
The Egyptian star is predominantly a right winger but he’s capable of playing anywhere across the attacking midfield positions so he’d provide good competition for the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Saido Mane at Anfield.

We’ll have to wait and see how the negotiations develop over the coming days but there doesn’t appear to be too much between the two clubs valuations so I expect a deal to eventually be agreed.
