Liverpool are hoping to secure the signature of Mohamed Salah this summer after submitting an improved offer to AS Roma worth £39m including add ons, according to a report in the Express.
Jurgen Klopp is expected to be busy in the market this summer as he looks to build a squad capable of competing for major honours next season and Salah has emerged as a prime targets in recent weeks.
ESPN reported at the start of the month that Liverpool remained locked in negotiations with Roma after seeing their opening £28m offer rejected while the Telegraph then claimed that Salah had agreed personal terms worth £90,000-a-week as the two clubs continued to thrash out a fee.
It looks like Liverpool have now tabled a second formal offer as the Express are citing reports coming from Egyptian publication Yallakora that suggest the Reds have submitted a fresh bid worth £35m up front with a further £4m coming in add ons.
It remains to be seen whether Roma will accept this latest bid as the newspaper says the offer is still short of their £44m asking price but it shows that Liverpool certainly mean business.
I think we’ll see a deal get agreed in the end and Salah will provide Klopp with another top class option in the final third with the Egyptian international ready to compete with the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane for a starting spot.
The 24-year-old is predominantly a right winger but he’s capable of playing anywhere across the attack and he chipped in with 19 goals and 15 assists in all competitions last season so he’ll certainly bring an added threat in attack.
Salah also knows the Premier League well following his failed stint at Chelsea that saw him struggle to force his way in to the starting eleven following his £12m move from Basel in 2014.

But the attacker has rediscovered his form since making a permanent switch to Roma and I think he’d be an excellent addition to the Liverpool squad if they could get a deal agreed.
