Agent Drops Hint Over Move After Chelsea Submit £53m Bid For Serie A Star
Kalidou Koulibaly’s agent has hinted at a move this summer after Chelsea submitted a whopping £53m bid for the Napoli centre-back
Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Chelsea are linked with Kalidou Koulibaly….
Kalidou Koulibaly’s agent has hinted at a move this summer after Chelsea submitted a whopping £53m bid for the Napoli centre-back, according to a report in the Telegraph.
Antonio Conte is expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer as he looks to strengthen his squad ahead of Chelsea’s return to the Champions League next season.
A long-term replacement for John Terry is among the Italian coaches priorities and it seems Chelsea have now renewed their interest in long-term target Koulibaly.
The Senegal centre-back was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge last summer but ended up staying at Napoli where he continued to forge a reputation as one of the best defenders in Serie A.
However, he could be on the move as the Telegraph are citing a report from Tuttomercatoweb that claims Chelsea have now made their interest official with a £53m bid.
The Italian outlet suggests that despite the mammoth offer, Napoli are determined to keep hold of Koulibaly and are ready to play hardball with Chelsea over his signature.
However, the 25-year-old’s agent has hinted that a move to Chelsea could be on the cards after describing the west Londoners as a world class team that any player would be keen to join.
The agent is quoted by the Telegraph as telling Mondo Napoli:
“Koulibaly? The transfer market is long as it will be open until August 31, something might happen before then,”
“Chelsea? They are a world-class team that many players would like to join but I don’t want to talk about this now.”
Koulibaly’s agent is clearly suggesting his client could be on the move this summer and is fluttering his eye-lashes in Chelsea’s direction so I think this is one potential transfer that’s worth keeping an eye on.

The powerful centre-back joined Napoli from Genk in 2014 and has been a huge success in Italy so I think he has all the attributes needed to be an excellent signing for Chelsea if they manage to get a deal agreed for his services this summer.
