Chelsea are closing-in on the signing of Danilo after agreeing personal terms with the Brazilian defender ahead of a potential £35m move from Real Madrid, according to a report by TeamTalk.
Antonio Conte is trying to further strengthen his squad ahead of their return to the Champions League having already snapped-up Tiemoue Bakayoko, Antonio Rudiger and Willy Caballero this summer.
A new full-back is on the agenda as Conte wants competition for Victor Moses in the right wing-back role and Danilo has emerged as a prime target in recent days.
It looks as though Chelsea are now closing-in on his signature as TeamTalk are citing a report from Globoesporte that claims the Blues have agreed personal terms over a five-year contract with the 26-year-old.
The Brazilian publication says all that’s left is for a fee to be agreed between the two clubs and a deal is believed to be close with Madrid holding out for £35m after rejecting Chelsea’s opening £28m offer.
Danilo moved to the Bernabeu from Porto in 2015 but has struggled to hold down a regular first team place and managed to start just 17 La Liga games last season with Dani Carvajal the first choice right-back.
The Brazilian international is understood to be keen on the move to Stamford Bridge as he wants to secure more regular football ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Danilo is predominantly a right-back but he’s also capable of playing on the left if required so the South American will be a very useful player for Conte to have available if he completes his move to west London.
