Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Andy Robertson is set for his medical at Liverpool….
Andy Robertson is flying-in to England to undergo his medical with Liverpool ahead of an £8m move from Hull City, according to a report in the Metro.
Jurgen Klopp has been on the look out for a new left-back having already wrapped-up deals to sign striker Dominic Solanke from Chelsea and winger Mohamed Salah from Roma this summer.
James Milner was forced to play in an unfamiliar position for much of last season and while the versatile midfielder performed well at left-back, Klopp knows he needs another long-term option in that role.
Robertson has been touted as a target for the Reds boss for some time and the Guardian reported over the weekend that an £8m deal had finally been agreed with the Tigers for his signature.
It seems a move is now on the verge of completion as the Metro are citing a report from the Mirror that claims Robertson is now en route to Merseyside to undergo his medical.
The newspaper says the 23-year-old has said his goodbye’s to team mates and left City’s warm weather training camp in Portugal to finalise his move to Anfield.
Robertson joined Hull from Dundee United in 2014 and was one of the rare shinning lights in what was otherwise a disappointing campaign for them last season that saw the Tigers relegated to the Championship.
The Scotland international impressed with his displays down the left flank and he’ll provide solid competition for Milner’s first team place when he finally completes his move to Liverpool.

However, Robertson’s arrival will cast further doubt over the future of Alberto Moreno and I expect we’ll see the Spaniard secure a move away from the club this summer after falling out-of-favour under Klopp last season.
