Man Utd To Make Fresh Move For £48m Star As Mourinho Eyes 2 More Signings
Manchester United are set to make a fresh move to sign Ivan Perisic with Jose Mourinho hoping to land two more players before the end of the month
Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are eyeing two more signings this summer….
Manchester United are set to make a fresh move to sign Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan with Jose Mourinho hoping to land two more players before the end of the month, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Mourinho has signed three new faces so far this summer with Victor Lindelof, Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku all arriving but the Portuguese coach has made no secret of his desire for further reinforcements.
Another attacker is on the agenda and the M.E.N. claim that contrary to some reports, United haven’t ended their interest in Perisic and are ready to make another attempt to sign the Croatian international.
United have been strongly linked with Perisic this summer but struggled to agree a deal with Inter after refusing to meet the Serie A giants £48m asking price [via the Independent] or include Anthony Martial in any deal.
However, it looks as though Mourinho is ready to try again for the 28-year-old after admitting defeat with his ambitious move to try and lure Gareth Bale away from Real Madrid this summer.
It remains to be seen whether United will be able to agree terms with Inter this time but Perisic would be an excellent signing as he’s a hard working winger who is also a real threat in the final third as he chipped in with 11 goals and 12 assists last season.
M.E.N. claim Mourinho is also hoping to strengthen the full-back department with left-back a particular area of concern as Luke Shaw and Ashley Young continue to recover from long-term injuries.
The newspaper says Mourinho is looking for a player who can also be deployed in the wing-back role if needed but although Danny Rose is a target, any deal for the Tottenham star is more likely to happen next summer.

If United can’t land one of their prime left-back targets then they may opt to strengthen on the right with the report suggesting that interest has been shown in Paris Saint-Germain’s Serge Aurier.
It looks like it’s going to be a busy final few weeks of the window for United and it’s going to be interesting to see who Mourinho ends up buying as he tries to build a squad capable of competing on all fronts this season.
