Arsenal
What you need to know : Arsenal FC 0-0 Manchester City FC
Arsenal played out a 0-0 draw with Manchester City last night at the Emirates thus rendering their opponents neighbours extremely pleased. The gunners did hit the post twice, and if it was not for some fantastic keeping by Joe Hart the Gunners could have collected all points.
The game started with a quick tempo with Song pressing from midfield. The first chance came in the 1st min when Nasri picked up the ball from midfield and passed it to Jack on the right. On receiving the ball JW shot across goal but unfortunately RVP couldn’t latch on to the ball.
In simple words, it was a vibrant start to the game. One end to the another, and completely open. In the 8th min RVP low left shoot shot hit the post after the dutch-man showed some great skill. The cries of ‘Arsenal, Arsenal’ succeeded the dutch-man shot. One minute later, after a lot of fumbling in the box Jack fired a weak shot straight at Hart via a Fabregas assist.
By the 10th min the game started to become sober which both sides holding a decent amount of position. In the 23rd min Jack played Theo a ball from the middle of the field, the Englishman made a wonderful turn thus allowing him some free space to take a shot- It was just a fraction wide.
4 mins later Nasri gave a sweet lay-off to Cesc whose low hard drive left Hart dumbstruck as he saw the ball hit his right post. In the 38th min, RVP fired one of his classic left footers straight at Hart. In the 53rd min, a 1-2 from Cesc and Theo forced Zabaleta to give a corner. However it just resulted in RVP taking a wild shot which troubled nobody!
By the 56th min, we had all the play and no goals, something really pissing off! On the hour mark RVP shot a screamer but Hart did well to save. In the 73rd min RVP tried to head an Arshavin cross in the path of Cesc but Hart was quick to collect.
After that we did have a lot of possession but couldn’t do much to trouble City. The game thus ended with the crowd shouting ” Boring, Boring City” just after both – Sagna and Zabaleta got foolishly sent off. Nothing to choose between the 2 teams…I mean how can you choose a winner when one team decides to defend and do nothing else!
Cheers,
