Tottenham take on Everton at Wembley on Saturday evening. Here is a preview with the latest team news, line-ups and prediction
Tottenham will look to close-in on the top four with a win when they take on Everton at Wembley on Saturday evening.
Spurs eased in to the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 3-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon last weekend but their focus will be firmly on Premier League matters tomorrow.
The north Londoners head in to the weekend action sitting fifth in the table – three points off fourth place – but can move level with Liverpool with a win over the Toffees ahead of their clash with Man City on Sunday.
Everton currently sit ninth in the division but they have been woeful away from home having taken just 8 points from a possible 27 on the road so far this campaign.
However, Sam Allardyce has made the Merseysiders difficult to beat again since taking over so he’ll be hoping to continue his fine start to life at Everton with another positive result this weekend.
Team news
Tottenham will be without midfielder Harry Winks as he’s still working his way back from an ankle injury while Toby Alderweireld is also still nursing a hamstring problem.
Danny Rose is another absentee for the north Londoners as he’s still at least two weeks away from recovering from a knee injury.
New Everton signing Cenk Tosun is set for his debut after completing a move from Besiktas and Allardyce has confirmed he’s itching to feature.
Michael Keane has been ruled out with a foot injury while Idrissa Gueye is also on the sidelines with a hamstring problem.
Expected line-ups
Predicted Score
Tottenham 2-0 Everton: Spurs won the reverse fixture 3-0 at Goodison Park and have won seven of their last nine games so they’ll be confident heading in to this one. Pochettino’s side haven’t lost any of their last 10 meetings with Everton and I don’t think that run will be under threat tomorrow. I’m backing a 2-0 home win.
