Celebrity Arsenal fan and club shareholder Piers Morgan has aimed a parting shot at Alexis Sanchez after he completed his move to Manchester United today.
The Chilean international’s future at the Emirates has been in serious doubt for several months as he was in the final year of his deal and failed to agree terms over a new contract extension.
Arsenal decided to cash-in this month rather than lose him for nothing in the summer and United emerged as favourites for his signature after blowing Man City out of the water with a lucrative contract offer.
Arsene Wenger demanded Henrikh Mkhitaryan in exchange for Sanchez’s signature and after a week of tense negotiations, the swap deal was finally confirmed this evening [Source: ManUtd.com].
Sanchez has received plenty of stick from disgruntled Arsenal fans on social media after being labelled a ‘mercenary’ for ditching the Gunners for the riches of Old Trafford.
One supporter who’s aimed a serious of parting shots at Sanchez is life-long Arsenal fan and shareholder in the club, Piers Morgan, as he’s had plenty to say about the move on social media.
Morgan took to Twitter to claim he never loved Sanchez in the same way he loved club legends such as Bergkamp, Wright, Pires, etc and recalled crying when Henry left Arsenal but says he’s already over Sanchez joining United.
The TV presenter went on to mock Sanchez for saying he’s joined the ‘biggest club in England’ by suggesting the Chilean international hasn’t even joined the biggest club in Manchester.
Check out Morgan’s rants below:
Sanchez is a great player but I never loved him like I loved Bergkamp, Henry, Wright, Pires, Ljungberg, Vieira, Adams, Seaman, Dixon, Keown, Parlour, Brady and Charlie George.
I even loved Anelka more than Sanchez.
So his departure pisses me off, but it doesn't break my heart.— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) January 22, 2018
I cried when @ThierryHenry left Arsenal.
Tears rolled down my face, I curled into a ball of fury & devastation & I was inconsolable for weeks.
It was like a bereavement, only he was still alive. Awful.
Sanchez? No tears. I'm already over it. pic.twitter.com/Ht5lMdrhFl— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) January 22, 2018
Mate, @Alexis_Sanchez – United are not even the biggest or most powerful club in Manchester. https://t.co/4il5qwOZlH
