Tottenham Team News: Poch Confirms Major Injury Boost But Key Man Ruled Out
Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed a major injury boost ahead of Tottenham’s clash with Huddersfield but another key man is still sidelined.
Tottenham will be looking to cement their position in the top four when they take on Huddersfield at Wembley on Saturday afternoon.
Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s provided a team news and injury update ahead of the game.
The Spurs boss has confirmed a major injury boost with the news that Jan Vertonghen has returned to full first team training after recovering from an ankle injury.
Vertonghen has missed the last three matches in all competitions after picking up the injury in training but the Belgian international could be back in contention to face Huddersfield this weekend.
However, there wasn’t such positive news on Toby Alderweireld as the centre-back is still working his way back to full fitness following a setback in his recovery from a long-term hamstring injury.
After spending three months on the sidelines, Alderweireld returned to action against Rochdale earlier this month only to aggravate the hamstring problem and the defender is still not fit to return this weekend.

Otherwise Spurs have a fully-fit squad to choose from as they welcome Huddersfield to Wembley looking for a win to at least maintain their fourth-placed position in the table.
