Tottenham Team News: Poch Confirms Boost But Key Man Could Miss Bournemouth Trip
Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed an injury boost but another key man is a doubt for Tottenham’s trip to Bournemouth this weekend.
Tottenham will be looking to bounce back from their European disappointment when they take on Bournemouth at Dean Court on Sunday afternoon.
Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s provided a team news and injury update ahead of the game.
The Spurs boss confirmed a boost with the news that Toby Alderweireld has stepped-up his recovery from a hamstring injury by taking part in full training this week.
The Belgian international has made just two appearances since November due to a niggling hamstring injury which he aggravated during an FA Cup clash with Rochdale last month.
Alderweireld has been eased back in to training after doing light individual work in recent weeks but Pochettino says the centre-back is now back doing ‘parts’ of training with the rest of the first team squad.
However, it remains to be seen whether the defender will be deemed fit enough to return to the squad this weekend or given more time to build his fitness.
Pochettino also provided an update on Eric Dier and the midfielder is a doubt for game against Bournemouth this weekend after picking up an elbow injury in midweek.
Dier was forced off midway through the second half during Tottenham’s Champions League defeat to Juventus and he’ll now face a late fitness test to see if he’ll make the trip to the south coast.

Tottenham head in to the weekend action sitting fourth in the table and five points ahead of Chelsea so they’ll be desperate to bring home another win to cement their position in the top four.
